The Signal Edition

Privacy policy

Last updated October 29, 2026

This policy explains what information is collected when you visit thesignaledition.com and how it is used. You can read the site without creating an account or giving us your name.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting servers record standard technical information for each request, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. These logs are used to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site.

Information stored in your browser

If you use the Save feature, the list of saved stories is stored only in your own browser (local storage). Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not sent to us. It is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Advertising and cookies

This site shows advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some ads may then be less relevant to you.

Cookie choices

When you first visit, a notice lets you choose “Accept all” or “Necessary only”. “Necessary only” tells Google AdSense to show non-personalized ads, which do not use your past browsing to select ads (Google may still use cookies to limit how often an ad is shown and to prevent fraud). Your choice is stored for 12 months in a first-party cookie named signal_consent. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of personalized advertising, unless you later choose “Accept all”.

Visitors in Europe (the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland) see the same notice, but nothing optional runs until they choose “Accept all”: analytics and advertising cookies stay off and ads are non-personalized. Ads shown to visitors in Europe are always non-personalized, even after “Accept all”.
