The Signal Edition

Accessibility

Last updated November 3, 2026

We want The Signal Edition to work for every reader, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology. We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, as our reference.

What we do

  • Pages use headings, landmarks and labels so they can be navigated with assistive technology.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip to the content.
  • Text and controls are designed to meet contrast requirements, and pages work when zoomed or on a phone.
  • News images carry text descriptions, and charts carry a text summary of what they show.
  • Calculator inputs have labels, and results are written out as text.

Known limits

Some pages link to documents from other organizations, such as PDF filings and rate schedules, which may not be fully accessible. Advertising is provided by third parties and may not meet the same standard.
