Startup runway calculator

How many months until the cash runs out, at today’s spending and revenue, with optional monthly growth.

Runway
10 months
Net burn this month
$60,000

Assumes the growth rates stay constant every month. Estimates only, not financial advice.

How it’s calculated

Each month, revenue is added and expenses are subtracted from the cash balance. Revenue and expenses then grow by the monthly rates you enter. Runway is the point where cash falls below zero, including a fraction of the last month.

With no growth, runway is cash divided by net burn (expenses minus revenue). If revenue already covers expenses and grows at least as fast, the company does not run out.

Worked example

$600,000 in cash, $100,000 of monthly expenses and $40,000 of monthly revenue is a $60,000 net burn: 10 months of runway.
